A first look at the LEGO Ideas Orient Express (21344)

LEGO has accidently leaked pictures of the Orient Express (21344) when they uploaded an 18+ set catalogue to their website earlier than expected. However this does mean we've been able to see high res images of the next LEGO Ideas set to be released.

As we can see from the images the finished product is quite different from the original Ideas submission with the train being dark blue rather than the expected dark green. This may annoy some fans but personally I think the new colour scheme works really well. The colour change might have been down to the fact that LEGO didn't want the design to look too similar to the Emerald Night set.

We don't have a confirmed release date for the Orient Express but it is rumoured to retail for $300 and will contain 2,540 pieces including 8 minifigures.

The train is made up of an engine, a tender and 2 carriages which both have full interiors. It will fit on the existing LEGO track pieces but doesn't contain any powered up functionality.
