Four LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog 2023 Sets Officially Revealed

LEGO has officially revealed four Sonic the Hedgehog sets that will be with us in August 2023.

Rumours of a partnership between LEGO and SEGA surfaced earlier this year, so today's announcement is not a complete surprise.

This new wave of Sonic sets comes off the back of the LEGO Ideas Green Hill Zone set, which was released last year. While that set was aimed at adult fans of the spiky hero, these new releases are firmly targeted at a younger demographic, as playability has been placed first and foremost.

Two of the sets include a new speed ball feature, allowing you to fire a minifigure loaded ball across the brick-built terrain. This certainly delivers an innovative new way for people to interact with their LEGO sets, but we'll have to wait to see how well it works in practice.

Across the four sets, we get minifigures of some of the main characters, including Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, and Doctor Eggman. Hopefully more sets from this new theme are on their way, as Knuckles is an obvious absentee from the lineup.
