Today LEGO officially revealed its next Star Wars set, the Executor Super Star Destroyer. The announcement comes as a surprise as there were no rumours surrounding such a set.

The Star Destroyer has 670 pieces, will retail for £59.99 / $69.99 and will release on 1st May 2023.

The Star Destroyer is built to micro scale and doesn't come with any minifigures, both of which are going to put a lot of people off. However, I think the design looks really good, and its appeal would definitely improve if LEGO released similar micro scale models of ships that could be displayed together.

The set marks the 40th anniversary of the Return of the Jedi and comes with a commemorative tile that attaches to the display stand.
