LEGO have officially revealed the Dune Atreides Royal Ornithopter, way ahead of its release in February next year. This release date has been chosen as it roughly coincides with the arrival of the Dune: Part Two movie in March.

If this seems like a long way off, you can at least pre-order the set now to make sure you're one of the first to get it. The set will contain 1,369 pieces and cost £149.99 / $164.99 / €164.99. It depicts the aircraft from the House of Atreides and features fold-out, flappable wings and deployable landing gear

The set comes with 8 minifigures, which is fairly generous for a set at this price point. Included in this roster is Baron Harkonnen - the tallest LEGO minifigure we're almost certainly going to ever get. LEGO have created an insane looking dress piece representing the character's extremely long robe and have provided a seperate display stand to showcase him.

The other seven minifigures are Paul Atreides, Lady Jessica, Gurney Halleck, Chani, Leto Atreides, Liet Kynes, and Duncan Idaho, all of which look fantastic.
