LEGO has officially revealed the Eldorado Fortress, which is a reimagining of the classic Pirates set of the same name from 1989.

The main build includes an admiral's office, working crane, pirate prison cell, and lookout with cannon. There's also a small ship with printed fabric sails and a rowing boat.

The set has a modular design, which allows the fortress's various components to be separated, thereby increasing its playability.

While the original Eldorado Fortress included a moulded baseplate, since LEGO did away with these for quality control reasons, the fortress sits atop a brick-built rocky outcrop. This contributes significantly to the 2,509 piece count, which is nearly five times that of the 1980's set.

There are also 8 minifigures included, six of which are blue coat soldiers, and the remaining two being a male and female pirate.

The Eldorado Fortress will retail for £189.99 / $214.99 / €214.99 and will be available from 7 July for everyone from the Official LEGO® Shop.
