Optimus Prime now officially has a play mate, as the LEGO Icons Transformers Bumblebee (10338) set has just been revealed. The set was seen in a Facebook Marketplace listing a few days ago, but we now have more images and confirmed pricing for all regions. We can now also see that the main build transforms into a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle.

Bumblebee stands at 25 cm ( 10 in.) tall, which is 11 cm shorter than Optimus Prime. However, this is reflective of each Autobot's relative size, as Bumblebee is Optimus Prime's shorter sidekick in the much loved franchise, which is celebrating it's 40th anniversary this year.

Unlike Optimus Prime, Bumblebee can change states without any disassembly. The set also features articulated joints, although this doesn't stretch as far as the knees, which is our biggest criticism, as this limits poseability. The set also comes with a stickered display plaque that gives information about the Autobot.

If you're an Insider member you can access this set early from 1 July, before it goes on wider release to everyone else of 4 July.
