LEGO Indiana Jones 2023 Sets Officially Revealed
13th March 2023
After many leaks, LEGO has officially revealed three Indiana Jones sets that will arrive on shelves on April 1st, 2023. Two of these are based on scenes from the first movie: Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the other depicts a scene from the third move: The Last Crusade.
The last Indiana Jones sets were released in 2009, which tied into the release of The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, so it's been a long wait for fans of the daring archeologist.
The set numbers show 77014 as being missing from the line-up. This was supposed to be a remake of 7199 Temple of Doom but it's been rumoured to have been cancelled, possibly because of the religious connotations surrounding the second movie.
Fighter Plane Chase

The smallest of the three sets recreates one of my personal favourite scenes from the original trilogy where Indy and his father get pursued by a fighter plane.
Escape From the Lost Tomb
Set number: 77013
Price: £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99
Pieces: 600

One of the biggest draws of this set, is that it has the first minifigure of Sallah, who's played by John Rhys-Davies in the Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Temple of the Golden Idol
Set number: 77015
Price: £129.99 / $149.99 / €149.99
Pieces: 1,545
Available: 1st April 2023

Of the three sets, this is the one that's going to be at the top of everyone's wish list. It captures the most iconic scene from the franchise where Indiana Jones steals the golden idol and has to escape a variety of traps including a gigantic boulder. There's been a lot of excitement online over this set, and rightly so as it looks amazing. It comes in LEGO's 18+ branding so is very much intended as a premium product aimed at the adult market.
One thing that lets this set down, however, is the very heavy use of stickers, which cheapens the feel of the set.
