LEGO Lunar New Year Trotting Lantern (80116) revealed
6th November 2024

Set name: Trotting Lantern
Set number: 80116
Price: $129.99
Pieces: 1,021
Available: 1st January 2025
Like in previous years, LEGO will be releasing a wave of sets to celebrate the start of the New Lunar Year and today we've had official images (although not an official reveal) of some of those sets.
The Trotting Lantern is the biggest set of the wave coming in at 1,021 pieces, including 5 minifigures, and will retail for $129.99, which will probably be between £109.99 - £119.99 in the UK. Like all of the other Lunar New Year sets it will be available to buy from 1st January 2025.
What is a Trotting Lantern? Well it's a traditional Chinese lantern that is carried by a person on a pole. The lantern is made of paper and is lit by a candle inside. The lantern is then carried around the streets to celebrate the New Year.
Of course the new Lunar New Year which will start on the 29th January 2025 is the year of the snake and I have to say the snake minifigure looks amazing and will go well next to the other "Year of the" minifigures from previous years.
