LEGO has officially revealed the Super Mario Piranha Plant, which will hit shelves 6 November for £57.99 / $59.99 / €64.99.

The set recreates one of the pesky Piranha Plants that perennially try and trip Mario up. The head, mouth, stalk, and leaves are all there, as well as a buildable pipe to place the plant in.

On first appearances, the curved edges of the plant's head and mouth look to have been created particularly well, and its vivid colour scheme will make a decent home or office ornament.

The plant and pipe come in at 23cm tall and are made up of 540 pieces.

The set also includes two gold coin elements, that can be made to fall out of the bottom by pressing a hidden button on the buildable pipe.
