LEGO have released the latest large-scale Technic supercar in the form of the McLaren P1. It joins the 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS, 42083 Bugatti Chiron, 42115 Lamborghini Sián FKP 37, and 42143 Ferrari Daytona SP3 as the latest 1:8 scale replica.

This set beats all the other 1:8 scale cars in terms of piece count and is the four largest Technic set to be released so far. The finished model comes in at 14cm (5.5 in.) high, 59cm (23 in.) long, and 25cm (9.5 in.) wide.

Personally, I think this is one of the best looking "ultimate" Technic models LEGO have made as it captures the real-world curves well and has a fantastic colour scheme. As is customary with 18+ sets, a display plaque is also included that gives details about the car.

The set will be available from 1 August 2024.
