LEGO Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night (21333) Officially Revealed
17th May 2022
Earlier today LEGO officially revealed the next Ideas set, Vincent van Gogh - The Starry Night. The set depicts van Gogh's famous painting, The Starry Night which currently resides in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
We already knew this set was in the works as it came from the a Lego Ideas submission by the user legotruman, but it's nice to get official images of the finished LEGO product. When comparing the original submission with the set, it's remarkable how little has been changed by the LEGO designers. Over the years we've seen LEGO make substantial changes to previous Ideas projects such as Pirates of Barracuda Bay and the Medieval Blacksmith.
The only big change is the black brick built frame around the edge of the painting and the addition of printed pieces to replace some of the stars.
The set will be released on 1st June 2022 for £149.99 / $169.99 / €169.99 and will consist of 2316 with one minifigure being of course Vincent van Gogh himself.
To create this product LEGO needed to secure a license from the Museum of Modern Art, which depending how well The Starry Night sells, could open the door for similar set based on other artworks in the museums collection.
