LEGO has officially revealed the Up-Scaled LEGO Minifigure - a giant buildable version of a classic LEGO minifigure.
This isn't the first set of this type to come out, as back in March, the LEGO House exclusive for 2023 was released, which was an up-sized version of Captain Redbeard from the Pirates theme. While that set is only available for people visiting the LEGO House in Billund, this one will be available for everyone to buy.

Sadly, the basis for 40649 is a rather bland red and blue clothed minifigure, and the piece count is about 40% less, which means it measures in at around 3 cm shorter than Redbeard. However, this is only a slight difference, so if you are wanting to get both, they would look very nice on display together. This disparity is also mainly because Redbeard comes with a display stand, while this set doesn't include one.
Both are also similar in size to the now retired 76393 Harry Potter & Hermione Granger, which was the first set to feature large-scale buildable minifigures.

The set features movable legs, and the minifigure's hat can also be opened up to reveal a cockpit with control panel, where the regular-sized minifigure in the set can be placed.
If you're excited about this set, there's not long to wait, as this is one of many sets that will be available from 1 June 2023.
