To receive the set, customers needed to be VIP Members and spend a minimum of £150 / $150 / €120 / AU$209 / NZ$209 / ?179,000 at LEGO's online shop. The set was later available for the same spend threshold for non-VIP Members from 27 – 30 November 2020. In various regions in Asia, the set was available as a GWP at LEGO brand stores and other LEGO locations. The set depicts a scene from the Dicken's novel A Christmas Carol.
