This blister pack was given out free with a minimum purchase of $35 to the first 500 customers at the March 2011 grand opening of the South Coast Plaza LEGO store in Costa Mesa, California. Each blister pack was numbered from 1 to 500. In addition, a few unnumbered sets were distributed to volunteers who helped the LEGO store employees on the opening weekend. Each minifigure had back printing saying "2011 The LEGO Store South Coast Plaza".
