Is the Creator Expert Roller Coaster a good investment set?

LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster

With the LEGO Creator Expert Roller Coaster set due to retire any day now we're looking into the question of is this a good investment set?

The roller coaster set has been on sale since June 2018, comprises of 4124 pieces and retails for £299.99. First things first this is a fantastic set, it's the first lego roller coaster we've seen and is both a great display piece and play set.

The Roller Coaster is part of the fairground sub theme which has historically been a pretty good theme to invest in, with other sets in the range seeing at least a 50% return if you bought them at retail price.

The problem with the Roller Coaster is that it's typically been difficult to find any retailers selling this set for anything other than the £299.99 RRP. I've seen a few deals for £229.99 over this sets lifetime but being able to purchase it for anything less has been practically impossible.

Because £300 is already a high price to pay for a lego set regardless of how good it is, I think expecting the resale price to be around the £380 price a year after it's retired is realistic but I can't see it going any higher than that.
