Harry Styles Tour of Love 2023 Races into the Review Round on LEGO Ideas
31st October 2023
Harry Styles Tour of Love 2023 is another popstar-themed project that has quickly gained the 10,000 supporters needed to enter the current review round on LEGO Ideas.
The project is far from groundbreaking, with its simple, blocky design. LEGO would certainly need to put in a lot of work to get it up to scratch, should it be approved for production.
There’s not much to say about it, other than it’s built from around 700 pieces and includes six minifigures of Harry, his band members: Madi Diaz, Pauli Lovejoy, Sarah Jones, Mitch Rowland, and the photographer Lloyd Wakefield.
Although I don’t know for sure, I suspect the Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Harry Styles projects that we have so far seen make it to 10,000 supporters, are getting some help for their respective communities, as you wouldn’t place Gen Z pop music loving people as also being LEGO’s core audience.
The BTS Dynamite set sold in droves when it was first released, leading to people having to queue to visit both LEGO’s online shop and some of their physical brand stores. On this basis, I wouldn’t put it past LEGO to produce another Ideas set themed around an equally popular artist. Therefore, I’d say that unfortunately this set has a reasonable chance of coming out on top in the review round, despite it being the worst project to have reached 10,000 supporters so far.
The other sets currently in the review round are:
- Modular Heritage Museum
- Great Temple Abu Simbel
- Rolls Royce Phantom 1
- Moon Palace
- LEGO Anatomy
- NASA's SLS Block 1 & 1B Rockets - Artemis Missions
- WTC Twin Towers & Vista International Hotel 1979
- Coraline: The Pink Palace
- Good Ogel's Garden
- Happier Than Ever
- City Burger
- Desktop Rock'N'Roll
- Phineas and Ferb!
- James Webb Space Telescope
