Third LEGO Ideas Review Round of 2023 Ends - 42 Projects Qualify
8th January 2024
The third LEGO Ideas round of 2023 has ended, with 42 projects having reached the 10,000 supporters needed to progress to review.
While I'd like to make some insightful predictions about which projects stand the best chance of making it to production, LEGO's final decisions are very hard to predict, especially with the huge variety of projects we're seeing nowadays.
However, one fairly obvious prediction I'd like to make is that we'll see one licensed and one non-licensed project be selected. What those will be is anyone's guess.
A better place to start then is which projects are less likely to get approved. There are several modular projects that stand little chance as LEGO has never previously given the green light to one of these. There's also a Simpsons project, which I don't think will make it, due to the franchise already haven been given it's turn in the spotlight.
My personal favourites from the 42 are the Sequoia Tree Trail, Classic Tractor, Forest Base, Italian Riveria, and Galley of Warriors. Much as I'd like to see the Forest Base become a real set, it seems that LEGO have their own agenda at the moment with classic Castle. But on the positive side, if you want a large Forestman-themed set, you only have to wait until the Bricklink Design Program Series 3 sets go up for crowdfunding in October, when you can buy the Forest Stronghold.
