An image of the new LEGO Icons Spanish Gardens set has been leaked today and it looks bad... really bad. The set is due to be released on 1st January 2025, it will have 1,302 pieces and will retail for £89.99 / $99.99 / €99.99.
I had quite high hopes for this set, if it was anywhere close to the Tranquil Gardens, it would be a good set but I actually can't believe how bad it looks. First of all, how is it 1,302 pieces? I guess they just used a ton of pieces to make that uninspiring base. Secondly the proportions just look off, and thirdly it looks too sparse like it has no detail. This is definitely one of the worst LEGO sets I've seen in a while.
Today we have leaked images of the Retro Record Player (40699) which is the upcoming GWP that will be available during Black Friday weekend starting 29th November 2024.
The Retro Record Player is expected to be available with any purchases over $250 and first impressions are pretty good although this GWP won't be for everyone. There seems to be two camps when it comes to sets that are based on household items, some really like them and others really don't.
Another of the first wave of LEGO 2025 sets has been leaked today and this time it's the turn of the LEGO Art Robert Indiana's Love Sign
The set will have 791 pieces, will retail for $79.99 and will be available to buy from 1st January 2025. The UK price is yet to be confirmed but expect it to be around £69.99.
Yesterday we had the Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet and today we have another Botanicals set that has been leaked, the Lucky Bamboo set, this time courtesy of Le Guru.
The Lucky Bamboo has 325 pieces and will be released on 1st January 2025 with a retail price of $27.99. Opinions have been a bit mixed on this one so far but I really like it. It definitely stands out from the other sets in the Botanical theme which are sometimes guilty of looking quite similar.
Like in previous years, LEGO will be releasing a wave of sets to celebrate the start of the New Lunar Year and today we've had official images (although not an official reveal) of some of those sets.
The Trotting Lantern is the biggest set of the wave coming in at 1,021 pieces, including 5 minifigures, and will retail for $129.99, which will probably be between £109.99 - £119.99 in the UK. Like all of the other Lunar New Year sets it will be available to buy from 1st January 2025.
Like in previous years, LEGO will be releasing a wave of sets to celebrate the start of the New Lunar Year and today we've had official images (although not an official reveal) of some of those sets.
We'll start off with the Good Fortune set (80117) which will have 1,021 pieces and will retail for $89.99, which will probably be £79.99 in the UK. Like all of the other Lunar New Year sets it will be available to buy from 1st January 2025.
One of the sets in the next wave of LEGO Botanicals has been leaked today and it's the Pretty Pink Flower Bouquet which will be released on 1st January 2025.
It has 749 pieces and will cost $59.99, presumably this will be the same price in Europe and £49.99 in the UK. From the box art this set looks really nice and we can spot at least 3 new molds and some existing molds in new colours so it will be interesting to see how these new pieces could be incorporated into MOC's.
I have to admit I've never delved into the world of Botanicals in the past but this might be set to encourage me to take the plunge.
Another new LEGO set has been leaked today and this time it's the Shackton's Lifeboat set which will be a free GWP when you purchase the new Endurance Ship set which is due to be released on Black Friday (29th November 2024).
The set is based on the lifeboat (named James Caird) that the captain of The Endurance, Sir Ernest Shackleton, used to obtain rescue for him and crew of The Endurance.
I feel like LEGO has really taken its GWP's to a new level recently and this will definitely entice people to buy The Endurance Ship when it's released. Shackton's Lifeboat is made up of 232 pieces and comes with 2 minifigures, one being Sir Ernest Shackleton and the other being a member of the crew. I was thinking when The Endurance was leaked that it would have been nice if it included Shackleton, so I feel like this set is a must have just for that minifigure.
The much anticipated Endurance Ship LEGO set has been leaked today with a release date of 29th November 2024 to tie in with Black Friday.
The set will consist of 3,011 pieces and will retail for £219.99 / $259.99.
The set is based on the Endurance which first set sail in 1912 and unfortunately sank while on the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition. It seems like LEGO has a penchant for producing sets of ships that sank. Speaking of which, this set will pair very nicely with the Titanic set which was released in 2021.
